Why Now?

Over the last decade, church attendance across the U.S. - and especially in the Midwest - has been in steady decline. Thousands of churches close every year. Younger generations are leaving religion at the fastest rate in history. Most churches are shrinking, aging, or plateauing.

And yet… The Well is a counter-story.
In a cultural moment where belonging is harder to find, our community is growing - not because we're trendy, but because people are hungry for a different kind of church: one that values inclusion, curiosity, integrity, justice, and the radical welcome of Jesus.

Our attendance is rising.
Our giving is rising.
Our engagement is rising.
Our kids and students ministry is bursting.
Our impact in the community is expanding.

This is the moment where mission meets opportunity - and where opportunity meets the limitation of a borrowed space that can no longer hold what God is doing here.
That's why this moment matters.
That's why this is our Such a Time as This.

Worship Attendance

The Well has grown from a living-room dream in 2021 into a thriving, inclusive community gathering weekly with consistency and depth.

Giving & Generosity

We've seen year-over-year increases in generosity - a sign of spiritual ownership and shared vision.

Small Groups & Partners

More people than ever are taking next steps, joining groups, and becoming Partners in the mission.

Kids & Students

Kids ministry is bursting at the seams, and our borrowed space limits our ability to serve the next generation well.

Community Impact

Our partnerships - Pride, Youth In Need, and more - are expanding rapidly.

A Permanent Home

A dedicated home will allow us to grow with stability, expand ministry, and build the most inclusive Jesus-centric movement in our region.

Why The Well?

From the beginning, The Well has been built on a simple conviction:

Your seat at the table can't cost someone else theirs.

We believe the table of Jesus is wide, welcoming, and healing - and that the Church is at its best when everyone, from every background, identity, and story, knows they belong. Not eventually. Not if they clean up first. Not if they agree with everything. But now.

That's why we're stepping into this moment.
Because we're not trying to be the church for everyone; we're trying to be the missing church for the people who never knew they had a place.

We want to keep creating seats at the table until everyone - especially those traditionally told "no" - can hear, see, and feel a resounding "yes."
To keep creating seats.
To keep making space.
To build something that will outlive us - and welcome those who don't yet know they're welcome.
